"True success isn't about forcing yourself to fit into a broken system - it's about structuring your environment to naturally fit how your mind works. As a clinical counsellor and national lived-experience advocate, I bridge the gap between mental health sustainability and high-performance corporate leadership."
In 2012, following the tragic loss of her son, Helen made a profound life and career pivot. Leaving behind a successful corporate accounting background, she retrained as a qualified counsellor. Driven by her own lived experience with complex trauma, neurodivergence and navigating the mental health system, Helen founded Transforming Positive Vibes Counselling Support.
Her core mission is to prove that a mental health or neurodivergent diagnosis does not mean the end of a career. Instead, she advocates for and designs low-friction, sustainable workplace systems that allow high-achieving, neurodivergent professionals to thrive without burning out.
Helen's leadership capacity was demonstrated during her six years as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Top End Mental Health Consumer Organisation (TEMHCO) from 2018 to 2024. During her tenure, she completely revitalised the organisation:
At a national level, Helen is a highly respected voice in mental health systemic reform. She has served as the Co-Chair of the National Mental Health Consumer and Carer Forum (NMHCCF), providing direct, expert advice to state and federal ministers.
Her strategic insights have directly influenced major Australian policy landscapes, including formal systemic submissions and expert testimony for the NDIS Review and the Disability Royal Commission.
Through her unified practice, Helen brings this rare combination of executive corporate acumen, clinical counselling expertise, and lived-experience advocacy straight to her clients across three distinct pillars:
